According to Coptic Orthodox tradition, Saint Mary was 48 years old when Jesus Christ was crucified. This is calculated from her age of 15 at His birth and His earthly life of 33 years.

Saint Mary, the Theotokos, was 48 years old when our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. This is calculated based on the traditional timeline of her life preserved in Coptic Orthodox tradition: She was 15 years old when she gave birth to Christ. Our Lord lived on earth for 33 years before His crucifixion and Resurrection. 15 + 33 = 48 years old. According to the Church's records regarding her total life span of 60 years, she remained on earth for 12 years after the Resurrection to support the Apostles and the early Church before her departure (Dormition) on the 21st of Tobi and the subsequent Assumption of her body on the 16th of Mesra.
