Did Daniel go into the fiery furnace?

No, Daniel did not go into the fiery furnace.

The ones who were cast into the fiery furnace were the three holy youths: Hananiah, Azariah, and Mishael (renamed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego by the Babylonians), as recorded in Daniel 3. King Nebuchadnezzar commanded that everyone bow down and worship the golden image he had set up on the plain of Dura, but the three youths refused to commit idolatry and were thrown into the furnace, which was heated seven times hotter than usual.

The Lord preserved them through His angel, and they walked unharmed in the midst of the flames. In the Midnight Praises (Tasbeha), their prayer and hymn of deliverance form the Third Canticle.

Where Was Daniel?

Scripture does not explicitly state where Daniel was at the time of the decree in chapter 3. However, at the end of Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar had promoted Daniel to be ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief administrator over all the wise men, sitting "in the gate of the king" (Daniel 2:48–49). Daniel may have been away on the king's business or occupied in high administrative duties elsewhere.

Daniel underwent his own public trial of faith years later under the reign of the Medes and Persians, when he was cast into the den of lions for continuing to pray to the true God (Daniel 6). The Lord shut the mouths of the lions and delivered him just as He had delivered the three youths from the fire.
