Are you Oriental or Eastern Orthodox?

I am Coptic Orthodox.
Coptic Orthodox Christians belong to the family of Oriental Orthodox Churches. It is essential to distinguish between our faith and that of the Eastern Orthodox (such as the Greek or Russian Churches).
The distinction arose primarily following the Council of Chalcedon in 451 AD. Coptic Orthodox Christians are the true Orthodox Christians, maintaining the Cyrillian formula of "One Nature of the Incarnate Logos". This is known as Miaphysitism.
We are often falsely labeled as "Monophysites" by those who do not understand our theology, but we reject this label and the heresy of Eutyches. We believe that the divinity and the humanity of Christ were united in a real, perfect, and inseparable union without mingling, confusion, or alteration.
While we share many external traditions with Eastern Orthodox churches, we remain distinct in our Christology and our history, standing as the keepers of the ancient faith of the See of St. Mark.
